The Birth to 3 program is a statewide program that serves children from the ages of birth to 36 months who have developmental delays or disabilities.
The areas of development that Birth to 3 can provide support in may include:
· Language and communication
· Cognitive (Learning, thinking, and problem-solving skills)
· Physical development
· Adaptive skills (eating, sleeping, toileting)
· Social and emotional (Building relationships and understanding and managing emotions)
Birth to 3 utilizes a teaming approach of professionals that may consist of service coordinator, early childhood specialist educator, speech, occupational, and/or physical therapist and other professionals if needed.
Eligibility is determined by meeting one of these areas:
· Child has developmental delay of at least 25% in one area of development
· A physician diagnosed a condition that could impact development
· Atypical development impacting child’s overall functioning
