The Behavioral Health Division offers Prime for Life classes for Jackson County youth who receive a first-offense underage drinking citation. Prime for Life is an evidence based prevention and intervention program which helps individuals reduce their risks of alcohol and drug related problems throughout their life.
Individuals who choose to participate and successfully complete the program will have their underage drinking citation dismissed and learn strategies to reduce alcohol and drug related problems to live a healthier life.
If an enrolled individual does not comply with program requirements, the courts will be notified and the individual will face the same potential penalties as if they had never enrolled; become ineligible to take the class in the future; and are not eligible for a refund of class fees.
